What you can do...

"Bite off more than you can chew, then chew it. Plan more than you can do, and do it"
~Anonymous

It all starts here. That's what you want to do, plan what you want to do, and do it. Heck if it looks like more than you can handle, you have to push yourself outside of your comfort zone to really grow as a person anyways, right? I know my "for instance" in this situation isn't even weight loss based, although I can give an example in a bit. But when I graduated High School in 1999 at the ripe young age of 17, I was determined that I would graduate college in three years, while working full time. Everyone...and I do mean everyone told me there was no way that I could do it...hell, there were days when I was pretty darn convinced I couldn't, but I wanted to prove them wrong, and sure enough I did. I worked 35-40 hours a week and graduated college in 2 years and 9 months....with a bachelors degree and honors. And then by the time most said I would just be graduating college, I had my masters.

But on the weight loss front, I didn't really think I would be able to stick with any plan for that long, I never had been able to before. But I proved I could. I set my sights high, a goal weight that is thinner than I was in High School, and you know what? I'm still working towards it, but I'll get there, I've planned to do, so I know I can with hard work, what are you guys planning to do?

My weekend was a success. I had another On Plan weekend...my second in a row. They were my downfalls for a couple weeks, but now I'm feeling in control. I baked Sugar Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I got a new kitty this weekend. I know, I know, I said I wasn't going to get one, but I caved. It came down to have one kitty left, and he was the runt, and I have this thing for the longshots. Duke (my 4.5 year old golden retriever) was the runt of the litter, and the last one left, and turned out to be such a great dog, so I got this guy the same way...and I'm sure he will be a great cat. He is all black, and I named him Chase (because Duke loves to Chase him, ha ha). I will post some pictures soon. Anyone have any advice for someone who has never had a cat in the house before?

Got the Christmas Tree set up yesterday (and so far the dog nor the cat have knocked it down Kathy! I'm doing good!) and all my holiday baking done....but none of the shopping done. I really should get on that.

Anyways, I hope everyone is having a healthy and happy day! Menu Below:

SOOOO jealous of your new kitty! I was jealous last week when you were holding them at work. Now that you have one at home? They are my second favorite baby to have around!

Tips? a quirt bottle is a great training tool and totally harmless. When he does something you don't want him to, just quirt the bottle at him. He'll hate the sound and it builds the whole negatve reinforcement with the behavior thing.

Your quote today reminded me of the one in Carolyn's bio section, "whether you think you can or you can't, either way you're right".

You are a great student! How awesome. I walked across the stage in April 2004 and am still 2 units shy of my BA!

Well, you certainly have all the ingredients for a Christmas tree disaster...maybe you'll get lucky!

What an inspiration you are. I watched Oprah and Barak's speeches this weekend and they reminded me of how you can do anything if you want it badly enough...Keep HOPE alive!

I liked your post today very inspiring!!

I have a situation similar where I have been told I won't get a full time paid position for ambulance (once I get my next patch in a years time) and I am determined to prove everyone wrong. When you get your head in the right place it's amazing what you can achieve!!

my only advice to you about the cat...is keep the dog away from the littler box and cat food. There is a high amount of protein in kitty poo and dogs love it!! also thier food is higher in fat then most dog food and the dogs love that too :) other then that the cat should be easy...they know how to go and where to go in their litter box instinctively and I am sure Duke and Chase will become great pals!! just watch Chase's nails...give him plenty to scratch on so he doesn't use your furniture or curtains! Also, watch the electrical cords...for some reason...kitty's love cords!! Good Luck!! You'll have to post a picture of them for us!
