Running out of Time..

"We didn't lose the game, we just ran out of time"
~Vince Lombardi

Isn't the great thing about our weight loss journeys is we never really run out of time? I mean everyone rushes through, trying to lose as much weight as possible, in the littlest time possible, but what does it get them in the long run? It gets them back to their starting point quicker. That's the one thing I have come to terms with. Perhaps my journey has been bumpy, or slow, but at least when I finally get to goal, I will have changed habits, and I will have a great start for keeping the weight off in the long term. I'm just learning to enjoy the ride.

I don't know why, but I've been stuck in this funk of not feeling so hot. It's like I'm getting sick, but not quite, and it's been going on for a little while, I just wish it could decide one way or another which was it would go. I would hate to be sick on Xmas!

Nothing too exciting planned for tonight. I have to snowblow my driveway back open again when I get home, since the road commission comes through and plows the street right back into it once I had it clean before...bummer. Then I have to run to the store, come home, shower eat and make the last of my holiday baking, which is white chocolate peppermint fudge. Then maybe a little relaxing before heading to bed.

Until tomorrow, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I'll update with a menu later!

Not that I'm glad I had a significant amount of weight to lose, but there is a lot of learning that takes place in the time it takes to lose it. I guess that is something to be thankful for in a mean sort of way.

I love that quote. Reminds me of watching Biggest Loser and seeing the ones who were voted off. Some of them have just done amazingly well. They didn't run out of time, they just ran out of game.

Lombardi was a wise man.
