"The secret of success is the constancy of purpose"
~ Anthony Troloppe

Good afternoon everyone!

Nothing very drastic to report on this end. I've been doing well, and staying OP this week. I've even been trying to control the "tastes" I am taking of things, and account for them when I do. I'm sure I'm not getting everything, but it's been better than the last couple weeks. I'm getting my 8 GHG's in, and I've been getting back to the gym. So overall, I think it's turning into a great OP week.

Getting back to the gym as been HARD! It's not hard getting there, but the workouts have been kicking my butt. I really didn't think I was going to make it through my 27 minute interval workout, but I pushed through it. I have another 27 minute workout scheduled on Thursday, and then I will up to the 30 minutes I was about to start before I got sick. They will just get easier, so it's good. Plus the cold is clearing up more and more each day, so as that disappears, it will ease it up to I have a feeling! I also walked Duke on Tuesday, and plan to tonight. The walks are by all means just leisurely, but still I'm getting out and getting moving, and that's what is important. Plus Duke is enjoying them!

So in my quest to eliminate alot of things that are processed from my diet (which I'm not freak about, but somethings kinda bother me), I am trying to look for an alternative to the Splenda I am using in my oatmeal every morning. I have been reducing it from the tablespoon, to a little less everyday and I honestly don't notice much of a difference, but I am looking into Stevia, since I hear it's all natural. Anyone try this? Opinions?

Other than that, nothing terribly exciting here. I'm really looking forward to weigh in on Sunday as I think it will be good one!

I hope everyone is having good days and staying OP! Have a healthy day bloggers!

I've got stevia and use it sometimes but I'm not a big fan of the taste, something's not quite right with it. Not sure what.

Good work on those intervals! when they're hard they're working!

I hear you about the splenda, I put cinnamon and a touch of honey in my oatmeal. I would rather the extra cals from honey knowing that it is all natural. I never tried stevia but am curious, let me know what it tastes like. Have a great OP day

I thought splenda was a derivative of sugar?

sounds like you're blazing through your eating plan.

mmmm, I could sure go for some oatmeal now....

I'm with Christina. I use just a touch of honey when I want a little sweet. And cinnamon and vanilla extract give a great sweet taste too. Stevia is a natural product too, but I have heard too many people complain about the bitter taste.

HTH!

Glad that you are feeling better and WOW on the workouts. It is a true testament to your overall health at how fast you can get back in the groove - you have come a long way girl!

I'm not sure about Stevia - let me know what you think about it though. I can tell you that they use Chlorine as a binder when making Splenda and that some people have really adverse reactions to it. I know that using too much artificial sweetner is bad for me personally but I think everyone is different. Good for you for always striving for better health and not just "hotness"!!!

I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better! And it is awesome to see how fast you are getting back into the swing of things at the gym. Even coming back from a few days off can be tough, so way to go. I hope you're giving yourself credit for how far you've come!

I totally agree with your quote today! People used to ask me my 'secret to losing weight' after I lost it the first time and I used to reply ... the secret is ... that there isn't one, just plodding your way to the finishline ... that's it!

I don't have any info on the sugar subs...I'm still using Splenda.

Getting back to the gym is so hard after you'vee been away for a little while! I alwasy find that first workout bac...the hardest! It's like it takes twice the effort. But you know in no time you'll be rocking the gym and it will feel like second nature!
