Sorry, I'm terrible about keeping up to date on posts (and reading others blogs). In the summer when we are slow at work, I find myself wasting away my afternoons browsing on the internet, unfortunately now that I have to work at work (gasp! how dare they make me work at work!), I don't have as much time.
All is doing ok on the Weight-Maintenance front. I am sitting towards the high end of my range right now, but I'm working on that, with tracking for a couple days.
I've still been trying to follow the Abs Diet Principles, and I think it's a really healthy way to eat. Not really looking to lose weight with it, just looking to be healthier, I don't need all that processed garbage all the time.
I'm still going to the gym, go me! Although I did cut down what I was doing. I was doing 6 of 7 days a week, and I think that was a little much. Plus I was doing some serious weight lifting too, and I think in turn I was gaining weight from the addition of muscle, which regardless if its "good weight" or "fat" I don't want to gain weight. I still have fat to lose before I worry about muscle, so I'm just going intense cardio 4 or 5 days a week now. After 6 weeks I will evaluate where I am at and determine what to do then. So that is my goal right now, In 6 weeks to make it to the gym 18 times (roughly three times a week), but I would more like that number to be 25-30 times. But I'm giving myself leeway.
At the gym for Cardio I've been doing High Intensity Interval Training, which is suppose to be the ultimate fat-blasting tool. We will see how it works. I've been running on the treadmill for it, and I've never enjoyed running, but I actually enjoy this for the most part. Plus the workouts are short, about 20 minutes, which I love, it doesn't take up all night at the gym.
Other than that, not much new around here. I'm back on the dating scene. When I find someone interesting I will post some details.
Weigh In will be posted Friday.
Hope everyone is doing great!

Not such a great weekend.
Now, it's not very often that I have a "bad" food weekend, but this weekend was one of them, and the scale showed it this morning. I knew it wasn't going to be pretty, I ate bad, and I didn't drink my water. So I'm hoping when TOM finally get here, I've drank a gallon of water, tomorrow will be better.
I honestly don't even know what got into me this weekend, Friday night went off without a hitch, and Saturday went well too, up until about 1030 (past my normal bedtime I suppose!), I got into the triscuits and hummus, and then into the graham sticks and peanut butter, and then into the ice cream. I didn't eat a ton of each, but a little bit of each is alot of calories.
Yesterday went off well, I was eating totally on schedule until I got to my parents house, and my body was ready for it's 330 snack, and dinner was suppose to be at 4, so I was avoiding eating, well then dinner got pushed back, and I got to snacking, and I hit the nuts. Almonds and Pecans to be exact, at least they were the good raw kind, not the roasted, salted or sugar coated ones. Then I got into the trail mix, and finally we sat down for dinner, which was planned to be my cheat meal for the week (Abs Diet allows one meal where you can eat what you want), and I had some meatballs, mashed potatoes and sweet corn. Needless to say, I was overstuffed (which I HATE that feeling) when I left my parents. The rest of the evening was fine. I made Blondies for work today, and I did split one with the roomie, but after that day, is that really an issue?
On a high note, on Friday night I did my first interval training, and it whooped my butt. I was totally tired and sweaty when I was done, so that was a plus. Then Saturday I did my first weight workout, which was by far one of the most intense workouts I have ever done with weights...ever. They have you do circuits, which wow, it's rough. By my second set of lunges, my legs couldn't go past 7 in the reps. They almost gave out. I guess thats a good thing though, it means I'm working out hard enough!
So after my workout on Saturday, My legs were exhausted, so I knew they were going to be sore, but I had no idea just how sore. I seriously haven't been able to move for two days, I've never had my butt hurt....but it does now!
Tonight I have another interval workout, I can imagine that is going to be pretty hard being that I'm having a hard time walking. But this is the point where usually I get out of the habit of going to the gym, just because I will go, I will be sore, and then I will "take a break" until I don't hurt anymore, then I don't end up going back. So, needless to say, I'm going tonight!
Other than that. I've upped the calories I'm taking in to between 1500-1800 a day since I'm working out harder, I don't want to put my body into starvation mode. So I'm back on plan today, and I'm going to be strict for the next two weeks, no cheat meals!
Other than that, nothing terribly exciting going on. It's finally cooling off here in Michigan, I just love the fall. Even more so, I love October, the leaves changing, the cool weather, I just love it, so I can't wait!
I hope everyone is having a good on-plan day, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things!

It's been awhile.
Sorry it's been so long since an update, We are short-handed at work this weekend, and up til today it has been NUTS!
My weekend went well. My roommate was out of town Thursday night thru Tuesday morning, and I decided it would be a good time to get her room sanded, primed and painted like I've been wanting to do. So all weekend I spent doing that. I even hung my first ceiling fan! And it hasn't fallen off the ceiling yet! But needless to say, I finally got her room back together about 8p on Monday night, and it looks great, but as a result of overworking this weekend, I started coming down with a cold on Tuesday, and then I've been exceptionally busy here at work, so I am really looking forward to a quiet weekend of relaxing, it's much needed.
The ABS Diet Principles are working well for me. I'm eating 6 meals a day, and I don't feel hungry very often. I'm using spark people to track the calories, and I'm doing well. I'm still hovering in my lower maintenance range even with TOM on his way, so i'm expecting to possibly be under 150 again once he packs his bags and leaves.
I'm starting interval training and some total body and abs conditioning involved with the Abs Diet next week, I was planning to start this week, but this pesky cold had me not feeling like much.
I'm so sorry for the lack of comments on blogs, I'm trying to catch up!
I hope everyone is having a great, healthy and happy day!
Weigh in tomorrow!

Construction sucks!
I know, kind of a vulgar post title, but it does. I'm in sales, and almost 100% of my sales are made over the phone in a business to business aspect. So, this morning, the construction crew that is widening the road in front of my place of employment decided to dig up a phone line. So now like a 10 mile radius of said area is out of phones. So what is a person whose job is to be on the phone to do when there are no phones? Boy it's going to be a long day!
So this morning I see 150 on the scale again, which is great! I had been up, and been seeing the upper 151's and lower 152's. Which was getting darn close to my set "threshold" weight, which was 153. Even nearing that number scares me, so back in check.
I've been trying this Abs Diet thing. I'm not really following their meal plan, but more trying to incorporate their "clean" eating style. They have 12 power foods, and I'm making sure I'm eating those.
The most surprising aspect of the Abs Diet book is they tell you to avoid any food with High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) in it, and also any hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils in them. Now when I read this part, and how bad they were for me, I was like "I've been on Weight Watchers for 8 months, how bad can I really be eating?" The answer to that question was surprising. Almost everything I was eating had either one or both of them in it. It was crazy.
So the last two days I've been trying to avoid them both, I went shopping and bought what I could find without them, and there is plenty, you just have to look. Do yourself a favor (and me a favor) and google them both and see what you come up with. After reading through it, tell me your not bothered by it.
So far I see some differences (it seriously just could be mental at this point). I don't feel as hungry, and I have virtually no cravings. I mean none. I can't think of anything particular I want right now. Of course as it is approaching lunch time, I'm thinking about that sandwich I have in the fridge!
But seriously, DEVIL INGREDIENTS: HFCS and hydrogenated oils....stay away from them
I hope everyone is having a safe and happy day!

Monday, Monday
Well the weekend went well. Friday Night I went and joined a gym, and then went grocery shopping.
I decided to join a gym, mainly to get into the habit of going before the weather turns cold, which is when I will need it most. So I am going to try to get there in the meantime three times a week to do cardio, once the winter hits, I want to start some strength training also.
Also a the store on Friday night I picked up the book The Abs Diet. My younger brother who has done this diet and lost weight has been telling me I need to read it, even if I am not going to follow the diet, just read it, because it has a lot of good info about nutritional info in it. And boy does it. I really think everyone should read this book. It's more about eating clean that it is anything else.
all I have to say after reading it, is hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup are like the devil reincarnated, and it's in absolutely everything. I go to my cupboard after reading the book, and I am thinking "I've been eating great for the past 8.5 months I'm SURE there isn't many foods I'm eating that had them in it!". Oh my was I wrong. Everything has it in it. Crazy. Read it, it's worth the read.
So that being said, I got to thinking about health, and how healthy what I'm eating really is. So I started using SparkPeople to track my food and calories. HOLY CARBS! I'm eating way way more carbs than I should, and not nearly enough fat. Protein I should be eating more, but I'm within the range spark people gives me.
So my question to you guys is, how do I cut my carbs, but increase my fat?
Well girls (and guys, I might have a few of those!), I hope you guys had a splendid weekend, and a happy monday!
